The BWI Parents Association
The PA raise around £10,000 per year. We have installed sixteen interactive whiteboards and projectors to classrooms and one to the hall. This is an on-going project, as the boards and projectors need replacing when they become old and worn out.
We have also raised money to pay for the front playground climbing frame, the back playground Outdoor Learning Classroom and Table Tennis Court, the playground markings in the front and back playgrounds, the coloured fences, the picnic tables with seats. Literacy resources to KS1 and KS2 were supplied, as were the school hall curtains - a much needed resource to block out the light during Collective Worship, school plays and discos.
The funds which are raised in our events provide much needed resources to benefit our children. We are very grateful to all parents, family, friends and staff who come along to support our school throughout the year.
What can parents do to help?
The events each year rely heavily on external sponsorship and we are always looking for new sponsors and donations. Parents can help by asking their employers about this. It may be that your company offer a £ for £ scheme like Barclays or have a community cash scheme available. It is amazing what you can get IF you ask! You might also be able to acquire raffle prizes or items to be auctioned from local businesses you know or contacts that you have. Not all parents are able to attend or help at events so this is another way to do your bit for our school. Please contact any PA Member via the school office if you can help.
We would like to thank our Class Reps who are a tremendous support to the PA, especially at the Christmas Fairs and Summer Fetes. Thanks also to our main sponsors - Barclays, and Gibson Honey.
