Dannie’s initial symptom was a problem with the vision in her right eye but she wasn’t diagnosed until almost 2years later. Life changes after a brain tumour diagnosis and Dannie quickly lost her vision, speech, mobility and suffered early onset disabilities within weeks. This was devastating for her, her family and friends. Sadly, Dannie passed away 5months later and life has never been the same. This is Dannie’s story but doesn’t have to be the outcome for every child. Today, the Daniella Logun Foundation is established in memory of Dannie to ensure that children like Dannie are offered the holistic wellbeing support that would have been a lifeline for her and her family.
Covid-19 has indiscriminately impacted our children and this March is Brain Tumour Awareness Month. We are campaigning to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of childhood brain tumours and the wellbeing challenges they face in our community. We know that earlier diagnosis of brain tumours lead to better outcomes for children. Please help us and consider volunteering to help our us reach more children and grow.
