Educating for hope and aspiration: enabling healing, repair and renewal, coping wisely when things go wrong, opening horizons and guiding people into ways of fulfilling them.

Educating for community and living well together: a core focus on relationships, participation in communities and the qualities of character that enable people to flourish together.

Educating for dignity and respect: the basic principle of respect for the value and preciousness of each person, treating each person as a unique individual of inherent worth.

Our Curriculum Intent

At BWI, each year group benefits from a customised curriculum designed to align with their specific age and skill levels. Through the commitment and motivation of our staff, we uphold the principle of quality first teaching, ensuring that all students can engage with the curriculum and cultivate their independent learning abilities.

Our Subject Leads play a pivotal role in overseeing the delivery of subjects, ranging from Early Years Foundation Stage to Year 6. This oversight ensures a coherent progression within and between year groups and key stages, enabling the sequential teaching of knowledge and skills within each subject area.

We enrich the curriculum further through a diverse range of visiting speakers, off-site educational trips, and local field excursions. Additionally, we offer an extensive selection of lunchtime and after-school clubs, aiming to create a rich and creative curriculum, and provide every student with the opportunity to nurture their unique talents.
