Welcome to Reception. We create a safe and happy environment with motivating and enjoyable learning experiences that enable your child to become confident and independent learners.  As outlined in the Development Matters framework (September 2021) ‘When we give every child the best start in their early years, we give them what they need today. We also set them up with every chance of success tomorrow.’

During the Reception year, your child will have extended opportunities to learn through play. The learning environment extends from indoors to outdoors. Through carefully planned adult-led activities, structured play, and child initiated activities, following their interests, your child will develop skills and understanding in the following seven areas of learning:
